Point d'Entrecasteaux Lighthouse

At Point d'Entrecasteaux, a square, white concrete tower measuring 4 meters in height supports the light. A mast positioned on the tower provides a focal height of 111 meters. The light emits a white flash every 30 seconds (Fl W 30s). The lighthouse facility began operation in 1960, and the present structure dates from 1989. This point is about 95 kilometers southeast of Cape Leeuwin. Access to the site is permitted, but entry into the tower is not. The closest port, Busselton, is 78.5 kilometers distant.

Why it matters: This light serves as a navigation aid for ships travelling along this part of the Western Australian coastline, located southeast of Cape Leeuwin.
