Passar Batung is a square skeletal tower painted white, standing 14 meters tall on a platform supported by piles. Its focal height is also 14 meters. The lighthouse emits a single red flash every two seconds. It guides vessels near the port of Batung, located at the southeast corner of Teluk Bungus, about 20 kilometers south of Padang. The geographic range of its light is 11.6 nautical miles. While the site is accessible to visitors arriving by boat, the tower itself is closed to the public.
