Constructed in 1977, Ostrov Karaginskiy Lighthouse stands on Karaginskiy Island, about 40 km off the Kamchatka Peninsula. This cylindrical concrete tower, 10 meters tall, features octagonal sides and is painted with red and white horizontal bands. Its light has a focal height of 76 meters and a geographic range of 22.2 nautical miles. The lighthouse emits two flashes every 15 seconds, alternating between white and red depending on the direction. While the island is uninhabited except for the light station, the site is accessible by boat, though visitors cannot enter the tower.

Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels of the southwestern tip of Karaginskiy Island, a significant navigational point in the Bering Sea.
