Constructed in 2009, One Fathom Bank North is a 30-meter-tall cylindrical tower built of fiberglass. It rests on a platform supported by piles, situated on the north side of the northwestbound shipping channel. This modern lighthouse emits a white flash every three seconds and has a geographic range of 15.3 nautical miles. The structure is located approximately 29 kilometers from Port Klang. While visitors can access the site by boat, the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse assists vessels navigating the northwestbound channel of the Strait of Malacca, a significant international shipping route. Its placement enhances navigational safety near the channel's northwest end.
