Location & Light Range
About Noto Kannon Saki Lighthouse
This concrete cylindrical tower, standing 12 meters tall, was first lit in 1914. Its structure includes a lantern and gallery atop a one-story equipment building. Located on the point of a cape about 12 kilometers northeast of Nanao, it marks the entrance to Nanao Bay. The light emits a white flash every 8 seconds from a focal height of 32 meters, with a geographic range of 15.7 nautical miles. The site is accessible to the public, but the tower remains closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse is important for maritime traffic entering Nanao Bay, helping to differentiate it from the similarly named Kannon Saki Light guarding Tokyo Bay.
