About Nordre Kaholmen Lighthouse
Established in 1897, Nordre Kaholmen Lighthouse is situated on a large rock marking Kaholmen island, approximately 1 km northwest of Drøbak in the Oslofjord. The lighthouse consists of a 3-meter octagonal lantern, painted white with a red roof, which stands 9.5 meters above sea level. It emits an occulting white, red, or green light that cycles every 6 seconds, with the color changing to indicate direction. This light has an operational range of 10.2 nautical miles. While the lantern room is not open to the public, the site can be reached by boat.
