About Nakakoshiki Kō Lighthouse
Also known as: #Nakakoshiki Kō
Situated at the extremity of the primary breakwater for Kami-Koshikijima's main port, this marker began operation in 2016. The present tower, colored red and topped with a lantern, measures 10 meters in focal height. Its light pattern is a single green flash occurring every four seconds (Fl G 4s). This installation succeeded a former, smaller marker that had served as the harbor's entrance guide. The location is open for visits, but access to the tower is restricted.
Why it matters: This marker precisely indicates the termination of the main breakwater, offering navigation for ships approaching Nakakoshiki harbor.
