Nagelprick Range Rear Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Nagelprick Range Rear Lighthouse
The Nagelprick Range Rear light, a cylindrical concrete tower standing 28 meters tall, featured a red structure with a yellow vertical stripe. It was mounted on a concrete pier and carried a large daymark. This structure guided vessels on their final approach to Vaasa, Finland, positioned about 6.5 kilometers west-northwest of the city. The site was open to the public, though the tower remained closed. The light ceased operations in 2025 and has since been apparently removed.
Why it matters: This range light was critical for the safe passage of ships making their final approach to Vaasa, guiding them precisely on a specific southeast reach.
