About Minega Saki Lighthouse
Minega Saki, a cylindrical concrete tower 8.5 meters high, was erected in 1971. The tower was connected to a square, single-story concrete building housing equipment. Located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, near Minamisatsuma, the structure was demolished after its light was deactivated in November 2018. The site is accessible, but the tower itself is not open to visitors. Its NGA list number is M5080 and its Admiralty number is M5080.
Why it matters: This marker assisted vessels navigating the waters near a rocky point, north of Bōno Misaki.
