Malaysian Lighthouses Lighthouse

This square skeletal tower, standing 35 meters tall, is painted with white and red horizontal bands, capped by a red lantern room. Its focal plane sits 14 meters above the water, emitting a white flash every four seconds. Located approximately 15.9 kilometers from Teluk Anson, it guides vessels into the Bernam River. The lighthouse has a geographic range of 11.6 nautical miles. Accessible only by boat, it primarily serves its navigational function.

Why it matters: This light marks the north side of the channel into the Bernam River, a waterway that forms the boundary between Selangor and Perak, critical for local shipping and fishing routes.
