About Little Cumberland Island Lighthouse
Constructed in 1838, the Little Cumberland Island Lighthouse stands 18 meters tall. Its focal plane is also at 18 meters. This privately owned structure is situated on the north end of Little Cumberland Island, near the main Cumberland Island in Camden County, Georgia. Although operational status is now false, the lighthouse was first lit in 1838. The tower is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
Why it matters: When active, this light guided vessels into St. Andrew Sound and the Satilla River. It also warned mariners of a shoal extending to the south-southeasterly.

The Little Cumberland Island Lighthouse is a privately owned lighthouse in Georgia, United States, on the north end of Little Cumberland Island adjacent to main Cumberland Island, in Camden County on the southeast coast of Georgia.
