About Île Plate Lighthouse
This hexagonal concrete tower was built in 1913 and first lit the same year. Standing 30 meters tall, it displays a white light with a characteristic of one white flash every 15 seconds. The tower itself is painted white, topped with a red lantern. It is situated on an island in the northeastern part of Québec, within the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, south of Saint-Augustin. The structure has been inactive since 1979, and its keeper's houses have been demolished.
