Constructed of masonry, the cylindrical tower on Île Bicquette reaches 22.5 meters in height. It was established and first illuminated in 1844. The structure is painted white, with its lantern and watch room sections finished in red. Located on a small island within the Îles de l'Estuaire National Wildlife Area, it is situated about 40 km west of Rimouski. Public access to the island is permitted, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: This light marks the southern channel of the St. Lawrence River for vessels navigating the waterway.
