About Kyodomari Kō Lighthouse
This green concrete lighthouse was built in 1970 to guide vessels into the main eastern harbor of Minamikushiyama. The cylindrical tower, standing 15 meters tall, features a gallery and is painted green. Its light emits a single green flash every eight seconds. The lighthouse is situated on the west breakwater of the harbor. While the site is accessible to the public, the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse is essential for the safe navigation of vessels entering and exiting the busy Minamikushiyama harbor, marking the western edge of its main entrance.
