Location & Light Range
About Kushikino Kō Mitsu Se Lighthouse
This square white concrete tower, built in 2014, stands 7 meters tall with its light positioned 15 meters above the water. The light is a continuous white flash shown through a square window. It is located at the foot of the south breakwater in Kushikino, Japan, illuminating a reef to the south. The light was formerly mounted on the Naga Saki lighthouse. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This light guides vessels entering and exiting Kushikino harbor by illuminating a hazardous reef 700 meters to the south of the breakwater, preventing groundings in a busy port approach.
