The Kurumi Se lighthouse is a 12-meter concrete tower situated on a reef approximately 2.5 kilometers west of Fukue. Its cylindrical, hourglass-shaped structure is painted black with a single red horizontal band. This active light emits two white flashes every five seconds. The tower's focal height is also 12 meters, providing a geographic range of 11 nautical miles. Access to the site is permitted, though the tower itself remains closed to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is essential for maritime safety, warning vessels of the dangerous reef located west of Fukue and ensuring safe passage through complex coastal waters.
