About Kropsu Lighthouse
The Kropsu lighthouse is an octagonal cylindrical concrete tower, standing 6 meters high and painted white with a red horizontal band. It was built in 1939 on the northern tip of Kropsu island, approximately 3 kilometers northwest of Haukipudas. This structure served maritime navigation for over four decades. It was deactivated in 1981 and replaced by range lights. The lighthouse has since been converted into an overnight shelter.
