About Kozai Kō Lighthouse
This 9-meter red concrete post lighthouse was built in 1961 and stood on the west side of Takamatsu, marking the end of the west breakwater for Kozai harbor. The structure consisted of the red post rising from a square, one-story concrete equipment shelter. It guided vessels into the harbor for nearly fifty years. The light was deactivated in 2010 and the entire structure was subsequently removed. While the original lighthouse is gone, the site remains accessible.
