Built in 1984, it stands on a square, 1-story concrete equipment room. The light emits a single green flash every 3 seconds from a focal height of 12 meters, with a geographic range of 11 nautical miles. The site is accessible to the public, though the tower itself remains closed. This concrete post and building mark the entrance to the port, which is situated northwest of Tanabe.
