This white, cylindrical concrete tower stands 8.5 meters tall and emits a green light from a focal height of 12 meters. The light flashes once every 8 seconds, providing a clear navigational signal. Located on a promontory at the eastern tip of an island, it marks the western side of the entrance to Kii Katsuura harbor. Access to this site is limited to boats, emphasizing its position on the coast. It offers a geographic range of 11 nautical miles, guiding vessels in the vicinity.
Why it matters: Ketano Hana is essential for vessels approaching Kii Katsuura harbor from the west, clearly marking the harbor entrance and preventing groundings on the promontory.
