Karang Gajah Garut Lighthouse

This square skeletal tower, painted white and standing 18 meters tall, is situated on a square platform supported by piles. It is located near a river entrance approximately 25 kilometers east of Pantai Santolo. The lighthouse emits a white flash every four seconds. Its primary function is to mark the shallows and currents found at the river mouth, guiding vessels in this dynamic coastal area. The tower's design allows it to withstand the impact of the waves.

Why it matters: The lighthouse warns ships about the hazardous river entrance and associated surf zone along the Garut coastline.
