Kandalaksha Range Rear Lighthouse

This cylindrical skeletal tower stands 30 meters tall and supports a slatted daymark, which is painted white with a black vertical stripe. The structure's focal height is 35 meters, and it emits a white light that flashes once every 3 seconds. Located on an island approximately 1.3 kilometers from the port of Kandalaksha, it guides vessels in the Kandalaksha Gulf, an inlet of the White Sea. The lighthouse is approximately 3 kilometers offshore.

Why it matters: As a rear range light, it works with a front light to establish a precise line of bearing, which is essential for vessels navigating channels leading to and from the port of Kandalaksha.
