Painted black with a single red horizontal band, the structure features a round tower with a gallery. It emits a white flash every 12 seconds, visible for 11.6 nautical miles. Located on a reef north of Nakanoshima, the lighthouse marks a passage separating this island from Nishinoshima. The surrounding waters are known for numerous rock formations emerging from the sea.
