A white, cylindrical concrete tower, 8.5 meters in height, is situated on a small islet in Hokezu Bay. The light source is positioned 16 meters above sea level. This structure emits a white light with a characteristic of a single flash every 5 seconds, visible up to 12.2 nautical miles. It is a rectangular, white concrete tower located in Ehime Prefecture, Japan, identifying a point between Uwajima and Seiyo. The islet can be visited, but the tower interior is not open. Nagimi port is 2.5 kilometers distant.
Why it matters: This lighthouse functions as a navigation aid in Hokezu Bay, assisting vessels moving between Uwajima and Seiyo. Its illumination assists local fishing craft and other watercraft in following their routes and circumventing dangers within the bay.
