The lighthouse consists of a cylindrical stone tower standing 7 meters tall, with a focal height of 89 meters, attached to a one-story keeper's house. It is situated on the highest point of a large, wedge-shaped island located 5 kilometers northeast of O Vicedo, Galicia. This island lies a short distance off the coast, with the nearest port being Celeiro, 5 kilometers away. The lighthouse emits a white flash every 24 seconds, visible for a geographic range of 23.7 nautical miles. The original lantern has since been removed from the structure.
Why it matters: Its placement on an isolated island ensures visibility across a wide area, serving as a warning for ships navigating the rocky Galician coastline near O Vicedo.
