About Isla Asia Lighthouse
This lighthouse, established in 2009, stands on the southwest heights of Isla Asia, a high island located about 2.5 kilometers off the Peruvian coast. The island itself is situated between the Cerro Azul and Isla Chilca lights. The structure is a 7-meter-tall cylindrical white fiberglass tower with a lantern and gallery, supported by a conical stone base. It emits a white flash every eight seconds from a focal height of 130 meters, offering a geographic range of 27.8 nautical miles. The island and lighthouse are not open to the public.
Why it matters: The lighthouse's placement between two other lights provides continuous navigational support along this segment of the Peruvian Pacific coast, helping vessels identify their position relative to Isla Asia.
