This cylindrical white lighthouse stands 9 meters tall on a stone pier, with a focal height of 11 meters. Constructed from stone and concrete, its round tower sits on a reef off the south side of Fukushima harbor, opposite Imari city. The light emits a single white flash every 3 seconds and has a geographic range of 10.7 nautical miles. The site is open to visitors, though the tower itself is not accessible. It is located approximately 1 kilometer from the nearest port in Fukushima, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns mariners of a submerged reef directly in the path to Imari harbor and guides local fishing and commercial vessels.
