About Imagire Kō Lighthouse
This red, cylindrical concrete lighthouse was built in 1963 and first lit the same year. Standing 9 meters tall with a focal height of 11 meters, it marks the end of the north breakwater for Imagire harbor. Its light displays a single red flash every 6 seconds, visible for nearly 11 nautical miles. The lighthouse has a round, hourglass-like concrete tower. While the site is open to the public, the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: Imagire Kō assists vessels navigating into Imagire harbor, and its distinctive shape makes it a notable feature of the Tokushima coastline.
