About Illas Sisargas Lighthouse
Also known as: Islas
Built in 1915, the lighthouse on the Sisargas Islands features an octagonal granite tower rising 10 meters from the center of a large rectangular keeper's house. Situated off the coast of Galicia, Spain, this structure stands 110 meters above sea level. Its white light emits a single flash every 15 seconds, visible for nearly 26 nautical miles. The lighthouse complex is constructed from local stone, with the tower itself built of granite. It is located approximately 10.7 kilometers by sea from the port of Malpica de Bergantiños.
Why it matters: This light warns vessels away from the rocky Sisargas Islands and helps define a safe passage along the Costa da Morte.
