About Ikuji Hana Lighthouse
This concrete round tower stands 33 meters tall on Honshu's Northwest Coast. Its white exterior is marked by two black bands, leading to nicknames like "Panda Lighthouse." The light emits a single white flash every 10 seconds, visible for 16 nautical miles. The structure is also known locally as the Ikuji Lighthouse or the Ekko Lighthouse. Public tours of the lighthouse are offered on select days, typically from June through October.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is the second tallest in the Hokuriku region and marks the boundary between the Sea of Japan and Toyama Bay.
