About Horoizumi Lighthouse
The Horoizumi lighthouse, a square cylindrical stone tower painted white, stands 9 meters tall with its lantern and gallery. Originally lit in 1891, it was later moved to its current location on the waterfront of Erimo Kō, approximately 10 kilometers northwest of Cape Erimo. With a focal height of 22 meters, its light had a geographic range of 13.6 nautical miles. The structure, built from stone, was designed to aid navigation in the region.
