Established in 1988, the Hirado Hayahuku Se Light is a white, cylindrical concrete structure, 11 meters in height. The light source is positioned 23 meters above the water. Its white flash repeats every 4 seconds, covering a distance of 13.8 nautical miles. This lighthouse is located on the southern boundary of the Haifukucho harbor opening, on the western coast of Hirado Shima. Visitors can access the grounds, but the tower is not open for entry.
Why it matters: This navigational aid marks the entrance to Haifukucho harbor, providing a warning to ships concerning a large reef approximately 800 meters from the shore.
