Hermana Mayor Island lighthouse, established in 1914, was rebuilt in 1989. The current structure is a 9-meter round concrete tower painted white, with a gallery. Its light displays three white flashes every 5 seconds. The focal height of the light is 48 meters, providing a geographic range of 5 nautical miles. The original light operated from a wooden skeletal tower of the same height.
