Location & Light Range
About Helgøysund Lighthouse
The Helgøysund lighthouse is a 6-meter concrete post, painted white, with a gallery and lantern. The lantern roof is red. This station began operation in 1888. It displays an occulting light with a 6-second cycle, showing white, red, and green flashes, serving as a marker for vessels. The structure is located on the eastern end of Talge island, south of the causeway to Nedsttun island. The location can be reached by boat, but the tower itself is not open for visits.
Why it matters: The Helgøysund lighthouse marks the waterway between Talge and Nedsttun islands, especially near the connecting bridge, helping to avoid groundings.
