The lighthouse is situated on a promontory approximately 10 km northwest of Muroto, Kochi Prefecture, on the east side of a cape. From a focal height of 78 meters, it emits a white light with two flashes every 20 seconds, visible for 22.4 nautical miles. The tower itself is constructed from concrete and is an active aid to navigation.
