About Hakui City Lighthouses Lighthouse
This concrete post light, attached to a one-story equipment building, began operation in 1930. The square, white concrete tower stands 10 meters tall, with its light positioned 12 meters above sea level. It emits an isophase green light on a 6-second cycle, visible for 11 nautical miles. The lighthouse is located at the end of the main west breakwater in Takimachi, Hakui City. While the site is accessible to the public, the tower itself is closed to visitors.
Why it matters: It marks the end of the main breakwater at Takimachi, aiding navigation for fishing vessels and other local traffic entering and exiting the harbor.
