Location & Light Range
About Gorda Point Lighthouse
Gorda Point Lighthouse, constructed in 1994, features a cylindrical fiberglass tower standing 9 meters tall. Its distinctive barbell shape distinguishes it from other navigational aids. The tower emits a white light with two flashes every 10 seconds. This modern structure was built to aid maritime traffic along the southeast coast of Bohol. The lighthouse is located approximately 4 kilometers east of Valencia, near the port of Garcia Hernandez. The site is not accessible to the public due to the terrain and is currently closed to visitors.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns vessels of the headland it occupies, a significant coastal feature on the southeast coast of Bohol.
