First lit in 1901, the Finnsnes lighthouse is a 15.5-meter cylindrical concrete post light. It is painted white and topped with a red lantern roof. The structure stands 7 meters above sea level, with a geographic range of 4 nautical miles. This light marked the southern entrance to the Finnsnesrenna, a narrow channel between the island of Senja and the mainland. It was located on the waterfront in the village of Finnsnes. The lighthouse ceased operations in 2016 but remains in its original location.
