The lighthouse is situated on a sandy point in Antunez, on the south side of the Gulf of Venezuela, near the Paraguaná Peninsula. This structure replaced an earlier round cylindrical fiberglass tower that also featured red and white banding. The lighthouse is located in Parroquia Borojó within Venezuela's Falcón State.
