About Entrance Point Lighthouse
A square skeletal steel tower, 12 meters high, was first lit in 1936 to aid navigation off the Gascoyne coast near Point Cloates, Western Australia. The structure featured an enclosed upper section, a lantern, and a gallery. It served a stretch of coastline known for being unforgiving. The lighthouse and the island it stood on were destroyed by a powerful storm in 1966, with remnants now submerged.
