Constructed in 1965, Egushi Kō is an 8.5-meter red concrete post structure connected to a square, single-story concrete equipment building. The light source is positioned 11 meters above sea level. It flashes red once every 6 seconds (F.Fl R 6s). The lighthouse is located on the western side of the breakwater opening for Egushi. Its visibility extends for 10.7 nautical miles. The structure is active and functions as a navigation aid.
Why it matters: Egushi Kō marks the western edge of the breakwater at the entrance to Egushi port, assisting vessels navigating the channel.
