Daiho Kō Lighthouse

Daiho Kō is a 10-meter concrete post situated on the east breakwater of Daiho harbor, on the southwest coast of Fukue Shima. It is attached to a square, 1-story concrete equipment shelter and painted entirely white. The light emits a green isophase signal on a 6-second cycle. This lighthouse guides vessels into the modest harbor, which serves local fishing boats and island traffic. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed for entry. Its geographic range is 11.3 nautical miles.

Why it matters: Daiho Kō specifically delineates the eastern breakwater, preventing vessels from running aground on the harbor's protective structures and supporting the local economy by facilitating the continuous operation of the port.
