This cylindrical concrete lighthouse, built in 1978, stands 14 meters tall with its light at a focal height of 86 meters. The structure consists of a round concrete tower topped with a lantern and gallery, connected to a single-story equipment room. Its white tower is a visual marker near Pontian, about 35 kilometers away. The light emits a single white flash every 30 seconds, visible for a geographic range of 23.3 nautical miles. Visitors can access the site, but climbing the tower is not permitted.
Why it matters: The lighthouse provides a navigational reference for vessels transiting the Strait of Malacca, helping them avoid coastal hazards along the Johor coast.
