About Bukit Jugra Lighthouse
Also known as: Bukit Jugra (Jugra Hill)
Bukit Jugra Lighthouse, a cylindrical concrete tower completed in 1976, stands 25 meters tall. Its lantern and gallery sit atop the structure, with the light positioned 146 meters above sea level. The lighthouse emits a single white flash every 10 seconds, visible for nearly 30 nautical miles. Located near Port Klang, it overlooks the Langat River estuary and the Malacca Strait. The site is open to visitors, offering extensive views, but the tower itself is not accessible.
Why it matters: This lighthouse guides vessels navigating the Malacca Strait and entering the Langat River toward Port Klang. Its elevated focal height ensures significant range, warning ships of river mouth hazards and busy traffic.
