Originally serving as the rear light for a range with Charston Rock Light, its function has evolved. The modern range's rear light is now located on a pole 320 meters to the north. The lighthouse's focal height reaches 16 meters, casting a white light with one flash every 3 seconds, visible for 12.2 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This structure originally served as the rear light of a navigational range and continues to mark the north bank of the Severn Estuary.
