About Blåstholmen Lighthouse
Blåstholmen lighthouse was built in 1907 on a rock near Flekkerøy's southeastern coast. The structure was an octagonal lantern and gallery, standing 5.18 meters tall and painted white with a red roof. It was supported by four black piles. The lighthouse served as a navigational aid for over a century. Its operational life ended in 2021, and it has since been removed. The site remains open to visitors by boat.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guided vessels through the coastal waters off Flekkerøy, a significant island in southern Norway.
