About Blenheim Lighthouse
Constructed from concrete and steel, the Blenheim lighthouse was a caisson structure located on Blenheim Shoal, south of Falsterbo. It began operation in 1973 and provided guidance for sixteen years. The lighthouse's service concluded abruptly on Christmas Day 1989 when it was destroyed in a collision with the Danish passenger ferry Poul Anker. Following this incident, the structure was permanently removed. The nearest port to its former location is Torekov, 3.1 kilometers away.
