A cylindrical concrete tower stands 6 meters tall, painted white. It is located on Black Jack Rocks and guides vessels through a narrow pass north of Betsey Island, southeast of Hobart. This remote site is accessible only by boat. The lighthouse emits a white flash every 3 seconds. Although the site is open, the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse directly warns ships away from the Black Jack Rocks, preventing groundings in a complex coastal area southeast of Hobart.
