About Betty Island Lighthouse
Also known as: #Betty Island
The Betty Island Lighthouse, built in 1981, was a 9-meter tall square pyramidal wood tower. It featured white paint with red trim and a focal height of 19 meters. This structure replaced an earlier lighthouse from 1939. The light emitted two white flashes every 15 seconds and had a geographic range of 12.9 nautical miles. The lighthouse became inactive around 2012. The wooden tower was eventually destroyed by a Coast Guard team on February 21, 2023.
