About Bantaeng Lighthouse
Bantaeng Lighthouse is a square skeletal tower, 12 meters high, constructed of concrete and painted white. It is mounted on a square concrete base that is supported by piles. The structure stands at the end of a long pier in Bantaeng, on the island of Sulawesi. The site is open to visitors, though the tower itself is not accessible. The lighthouse has been operational since at least 2009 and is located near the port of Makassar.
Why it matters: This lighthouse guides local vessels approaching the Bantaeng pier and the adjacent port area.
